Classical music is everywhere in films, TV shows and even in video games, but there’s no better way to hear it than in a live concert. The Drivetime Concert is an hour of fantastic music played by the 80-piece Hallé Orchestra giving it everything. It’s the perfect place to hear an orchestral performance for the first time.

The concert style is informal and fun, and our presenter, Tom Redmond, will introduce the pieces from the stage by so it’s ideal for families too. The concert starts at 6pm so you’ll escape the rush hour and there’s plenty of time afterwards to grab a meal in town or get the kids to bed.

This year’s concert is inspired by the 50th anniversary of the moon landings. Hear the explosive opening of 2001: A Space Odyssey, Holst’s spectacular Jupiter from The Planets, Dvořák’s lunar aria from Russalka, John Williams’ immortal theme for the world’s greatest superhero, and more.
