For our autumn concert we’re combining some of the most beautiful and haunting music with one of the great barnstormers of the choral repertoire. Audiences outside Norway very rarely get to hear Grieg’s gem 'At the Cloister Gate', which features the upper voices of the Harmonic Choir, while the magisterial 'Alto Rhapsody' of Brahms gives the tenors and basses of the Choir their moment of glory, accompanying the heavenly voice of soloist Rhonda Browne. The unearthly 'Swan of Tuonela' by Sibelius contrasts with the familiar but sublime 'Laudate Dominum' by Mozart, before the stirring finale of Mendelssohn’s 'Hymn of Praise', surely one of the grandest and most exciting choral works ever written.

Approximate length of concert: 1 hour 40 minutes including interval.
